there is here in the north of France, two species of Lepidodendron showing leaf cushions elongated and fusiform. The first is Lepidodendron rimosum , the leaf-cushions are fairly spaced from one another, this character tends to
be accentuated in older bark. The second Lepidodendron jaraczewski whose leaf cushions are contiguous , this is the case then that decortication is why I lean to the latter species ...Best regards .....Bruno
